Our Competitive Advantage

Our expert staff.

We're an Australian, family-owned business owned and managed by Brett and Lilian Mackay-Payne. We employ staff members who are experts in their fields, with over 38 years experience in product development, quality control, logistics, customer service and sales. We've also built strong working relationships with specialists in our supply chain, who provide the best workmanship and industry insights. This ensures we can give you the most holistic and up-to-date approach to uniform supply.

Our holistic approach.

We are inspiring uniform designers, motivated by Australian design and the use of smart, modern fabrics. We supply schoolwear to educational institutions, sporting clubs, bands, recreational groups, and businesses across Australia. Combined with intelligent order forecasting and garment stock services, as well as our integrated retail solutions, we proudly service the societal, community and individual needs of our nation's schools and organisations.

Environmental Responsibility Statement

At P&C Uniforms, we recognise that our operations – from fabric sourcing to garment delivery – have an impact on the environment. As a trusted supplier to schools across Australia, we are committed to reducing this impact and contributing to a more sustainable future for our communities.

01 Our Commitment

  • Designing for Longevity – creating durable, high-quality school uniforms that last longer, reducing replacement frequency and overall waste.

  • Responsible Manufacturing – working with approved suppliers and mills that comply with environmental regulations, use safe chemical processes, and invest in water treatment and waste management systems.

  • Ethical Sourcing – seeking out sustainable fibres and materials from legal, traceable sources that support biodiversity and avoid deforestation.

  • Reducing Our Carbon Footprint – consolidating shipments to minimise air freight, optimising production planning, and exploring lower-emission logistics solutions.

02 Key Environmental Priorities

  • Waste Reduction: Improving fabric yield and reusing or recycling offcuts wherever possible. Minimising single-use packaging and encouraging bulk-packing where school policies allow.

  • Water Stewardship: Partnering with mills that use closed-loop water systems and comply with local wastewater regulations.

  • Energy Efficiency: Encouraging suppliers to use energy-efficient machinery and reducing energy consumption within our own operations.

03 Continuous Improvement

We view sustainability as a journey. Each year we aim to:

  • Increase the proportion of sustainable fabrics used in our collections.

  • Offer customers supply alternatives and services that reduce our use of air freight and optimise sea freight.

  • Work with suppliers to adopt cleaner production technologies and more sustainable packaging solutions.

04 Transparency and Collaboration

We openly communicate our environmental expectations to suppliers, staff, and school partners. We collaborate with stakeholders to identify new opportunities to reduce environmental impact and report on our progress where required.

05 Ethical Supply Chain Management

We design uniforms for longevity, undertake ethical sourcing, and comply with the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2018, all State and National Employment Awards, and The Queensland Code of Practice for Clothing and Textiles to the extent possible in the country of manufacture.

Our Quality Assurance

Our quality control office.

In 1998, we established a Quality Assurance office in Shanghai, China, in order to maintain strict control over the high-quality output of our offering, and our logistics. This is unique because most uniform companies in Australia don't have their own operation in China. They instead enter into loose arrangements with overseas factories and subsequently are unable to achieve the same high level of quality control that we provide. Our Production department works very closely with our China office team, directly communicating with them every day to get the latest updates from our manufacturers.

Our workmanship guarantee.

We work with a number of carefully selected manufacturing factories in China that specialise in various apparel production skills, such as tailoring and sublimation printing, to guarantee the best workmanship on all of our products. Many of our factories also manufacture for high-end brand names. We only select factories with above-board workplace practices and quality workmanship that exceeds Australian standards.
