The Legacy Program

Led by Martine Duncan, Legacy Program Director – School Identity & Design Strategy

Martine Duncan brings more than 25 years of experience in fashion design, brand development, product innovation, and school uniform strategy.

Her career includes leadership and design roles across respected Australian and international brands including David Jones, Ben Sherman, Nicholas Green, Seafolly and Zambeli, together with extensive experience in international manufacturing and schoolwear development.

This breadth of experience gives Martine a rare ability to integrate brand strategy, technical garment expertise, commercial product development, and long-term uniform governance.

Martine offers a unique combination of:

  • Brand & Identity Strategy
Translating a school’s values, heritage, and visual identity into a cohesive and distinctive uniform program.

  • Design Excellence
Creating uniform solutions that strengthen school identity while balancing aesthetics, functionality, and wearer confidence.

  • Technical Garment Engineering
Ensuring fit, comfort, durability, and performance across all garment categories.

  • Governance & Lifecycle Strategy
Supporting structured decision-making for long-term uniform planning, transition management, and policy continuity.

Why This Matters For Schools:

Most uniform programs fail because they are treated as short-term design exercises.

  • Schools redesign uniforms without structure

  • Decisions driven by aesthetics or cost

  • No governance continuity

  • The result? Inconsistency, waste, and community friction

Martine's involvement with the Legacy Program ensures uniform programs are developed as:

  • Long-term institutional assets that protect and strengthen school identity

  • Strategic brand expressions that reinforce culture, values, and community pride

  • Governed systems, not trend-driven redesign cycles

  • Durable, compliant and future-ready solutions aligned with school values and operational realities
